Michigan's First Net Zero Home

Imagine… a comfortable home that uses about 60 to 70 percent less energy than a conventional home, with the balance of its energy needs supplied by renewable technologies. It's no longer just a vision – it's a reality.

Cobblestone Homes has teamed up with The Dow Chemical Company and several other industry leaders to build the first net-zero energy home in Michigan.

This home incorporates a number of innovative and energy-efficient technologies and solutions, including insulation, sealants, geothermal heating and solar generation.

While not every home in Michigan can be a net-zero home, many of these same technologies are readily available through leading retailers and can be used to improve the efficiency of other new or existing homes.
